7 highlights on the 2019 BMW X1 sDrive20i M-Sport

It has been quite sometime since the BMW X1 has been revived but the wait is finally over. BMW Malaysia has released the all new BMW X1 sDrive M-Sport and here’s 7 reasons on why it’s quite special:

1. Powerful engine.

The X1 comes with a 2.0l engine that churns out 192bhp alongside 280Nm of torque at the rpm of 1350-4000. This enables the X1 to hit 0-100kph in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 224kph. When compared to the Audi Q3 1.4tfsi, the X1 makes about 45bhp and 30nms more.

2. Festival of lights.

The new X1 comes with a redesigned front bumper that houses integrated LED fog lamps. The tubes in the LED headlights are in a hexagonal shape to fulfill the modern looks in the BMW X1. There is also a lights package which includes a welcome light carpet. When you unlock the car, the word ‘X1’ is projected onto the ground in two tones by an LED light which is located in the drivers side exterior mirror. The taillamps on the other hand have a single LED bar which carries the signature L design.

3. M-Sport dampers.

The X1 features double wishbone suspension at the front and multilinks at the back. That aside, the dampers are M-Sport tuned, which results in a lower ride height by about 10 millimeters to be exact. The Q3 comes with Mcpherson Struts at the front and a torsion beam at the back.

4. Luxury touches inside.

Inside the X1, you get premium black leather Dakota upholstery with perforations which is complemented by aluminium interior trim finishers in pearl chrome. You also get the M leather steering wheel alongside an 8.8 inch touchscreen navigation system which is placed in the middle of the dashboard.

5. BMW ConnectedDrive.

The feature to remind you that you’ve bought a BMW is of course the ConnectedDrive. You can get everything from roadside assistance, traffic update and even find what you want by just calling the Concierge service, while on the move in your X1.

6. Pricing.

The BMW X1 would cost you RM233,800.00 while the Audi Q3 would cost you RM269,900.00 which is a difference in RM36,100.00. But do bear in mind that the Audi is a CBU while the BMW is a CKD. However, the road tax of the Audi would cost you RM70.00 while the BMW would be RM380.00 due to higher CC.

7. Warranty and other programmes.

You’ll be getting 5 years of warranty with unlimited mileage as well as a free scheduled service programme. The run-flat tyres also do come with a 2 year warranty!

Conclusion.

So we think  the new X1 has plenty to offer for how much it costs. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments section below.
