We at Route Hunters Malaysia have finally managed to do\nso, and that too at Dato Sagor, Perak! Our excitement wasn&#8217;t containable as we\nhad the elusive 308GTi to ourselves!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/routehunters.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_1935.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3585\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We were already having a heap of fun in the\nsighting runs where we used the \u2018regular\u2019 Peugeot 308 THP to check out the\ncircuit itself. It\u2019s tight, narrow corners overlooking the Perak river was\ncloser in feel to our local mountain roads than a proper circuit. Needless to\nsay the circuit was a hoot to drive in, even with the automatic, 150bhp version\nof the 308 THP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However things got a lot better. Not only\nwere we in a race track with the Peugeot 308 GTi, we actually got to ride\nshotgun while the car was piloted by Karamjit Singh! We don&#8217;t know how else to\ndescribe it to you, but the title Flying Sikh is definitely not to be taken\nlightly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"2019 Peugeot 308 GTi 270 by PS: Max performance for min Ringgit?\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/d71dc_GDu3Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While he threw the 308GTi around critical\ncorners with ease crossing 140kph, we were barely scared at all given the\namount of trust we have for the man who drove in the snow sideways above\n200kph. This was nothing but child&#8217;s play, fun fact is he was too chilled to\nthe point he was letting us know his thoughts and opinions on the 308GTi while\nthrowing it about on the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can definitely conclude that Peugeot has\nmade two amazing cars, though they are worlds apart. The basic 308 starts at\nabout RM93000 and the top spec model costs about RM98000. The 308GTi on the\nother hand, coming with a sensational close ratio 6 speed manual, LSD, and\npushing out 270bhp and 330nms torque only costs you RM199999. So if that isn&#8217;t\nworth it, what is? Even when the Flying Sikh has approved this car with a huge\nsmile on his face, should there be a need to think twice? So what do you guys\nthink?
