Yet, we do not see it on the roads\nas much as we see the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry. What makes this Mazda\nstand out from its counterparts from Honda and Toyota? We list 5 things that\nmakes this Mazda a prime contender compared to its rivals!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looks to Stop a shoot \u2013 A stand out design<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/routehunters.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0097-1.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3387\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing you notice on the KODO Design themed Mazda 6\nis its imposing new grill. The previous generations slated grill have been\nreplaced with blacked out 3D inserts.&nbsp;\nThis along with the other design details of the Mazda 6 makes it look\nsimilar to the Vision Coupe and RX-Vision and the Vision Coupe Concept cars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 19 inch rims are also new for the face lifed version,\nfinished in a gunmetal finish. The 2.5 and Diesel versions come with a sunroof\nand adaptive headlamps<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have always maintained that beauty lies in the eyes of\nthe beholder, and what might appeal to some might not to others. In the case of\nthe Mazda 6 though, we would like to state what we think about the design clean\nand clear. We even stopped our shoot to admire it\u2019s amazing looks! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Size Matters \u2013 Generous Proportions without feeling bulky<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"Mazda 6 SkyActiv-G 2.5 - How does Mazda&#039;s D segment contender compare to its Japanese rivals?\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IMmaHlpczAQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mazda 6 is no pint size car. It may not have the longest\noverall length, coming in 20mm shorter than the Nissan Teana and Toyota Camry,\nbut it has the biggest wheelbase at 2830mm. That\u2019s 5 mm more than the 2019\nToyota Camry and a whopping 55mm longer than the Honda Accord and Teana,\nproviding plenty of legroom in the cabin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 1840mm, it\u2019s the same width at the Toyota Camry, and 10mm\nwider than the Nissan Teana. Despite being generously proportioned, the Mazda\nis significantly lighter compared to its rivals. While the Accord, Camry and\nTeana weighs well into the 1500kg mark, the Mazda 6 2.5 is only 1440kg in\nweight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The boot space is bigger than the Honda Accord at 489\nliters, which is good enough to store a picnic\u2019s worth of Coleman tables and\nchairs. You can also fold down the rear seats if you require to store bigger,\noversized items. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interior \u2013 Human Machine Interface<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/routehunters.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0069-1.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3381\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the inside the Mazda 6 has a snugger and a more\ncockpit-like feel compared to the other Japanese rivals in the class. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The design itself is simple yet striking, with controls laid\nout in a logical manner. The center, leather clad dash is dominated by an 8\ninch touch screen, which can be controlled via the center control knob <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ride like the Wind \u2013 Class Leading Driving Dynamics <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/routehunters.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0087.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3383\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The best trope of the Mazda 6 is its\ndriving dynamic. Under the hood there\u2019s a marvelous 2.5 liter naturally\naspirated 4 cylinder engine with Skyactiv technology which puts out 185bhp and\n250Nm, which makes it the most powerful D Segment Japanese saloon with a\nnon-turbo engine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s got a well-tuned chassis which is\nskewered more towards comfort. Despite riding on massive 19 inch rims\nthe car has a beautiful ride quality and excellent handling. While we can\u2019t say\nthat its an agile B-road machine, due to its sheer size and comfort tuned\nhandling, it does take corners comfortably and safely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where the Mazda 6 truly in its element is on the highways\nand open B Roads, where sweeping corners are tackled with ease at high speed.\nThe G-Vectoring system aids in keeping the car in line at tight corners but we\ncan conclude that the Mazda 6 is ultimately at home on high speed turns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Keeping things in line \u2013 Lane Keep Assist<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/routehunters.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0111.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3391\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The final party trick of the Mazda 6 is its lane keep assist\nsystem. This system activates once above 40kph. You will know the system is\nactivated when there are two parallel lines on your head up display on either\nside of the speed readout. At which point, if the car sways out of the lane,\nthe car will turn the steering automatically to bring you back into the\nexisting lane. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However be sure to keep both hands on the wheel. If your\nhands are off the wheel for more than a few minutes continuously the system\ndisengages. This is very handy as the Mazda 6 is in its element on highways and\nfast B roads, and this system worked so well at keeping the car centered in the\nlane. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/routehunters.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0103-1.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3392\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At RM189,698.47, the Mazda 6 slots right between the Honda\nAccord 2.4 and the 2019 Toyota Camry 2.5V. Bear in mind this car comes with 3\nyears free service, inclusive of parts and labor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re in the market for a large Japanese sedan with good\ndriving dynamics and a stylish
