The luxury British sportscar and supercar\ncompany, McLaren celebrates the 20,000th car to be hand-assembled at its\nMcLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Woking, Surrey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pictured here is the 20,000th car built\nwhich is a right-hand drive 600LT Spider in sleek Chicane Grey from the brand\u2019s\nSports Series line-up. Launched last summer as the next chapter in the McLaren\n\u2018Longtail\u2019 story, all production slots for the Coupe variant have already been\nfilled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While McLaren\u2019s production reached just\nover 4,800 cars in 2018 to meet rising global demand, output will remain around\n5,000 a year into the next decade before increasing to 6,000. This should be\ntrue with the launch of McLaren\u2019s latest addition, the McLaren GT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 620PS \/ 630Nm 4.0 twin turbo powered\naddition to the McLaren range is geared towards long distance cruising, locking\nhorns with the likes of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and the Bentley\nContinental GT. It may be geared towards long distance driving comfort, but\nsince it sports a McLaren badge, it still snaps to 200kph in 9.0 seconds and\ntops out at 326kph. McLaren is slowly but surely expanding its\nbrand presence from being a bespoke motorsports derived hypercar manufacturer\nto a serious luxury marque. Time will tell if we will see just as many McLarens\non the Malaysian streets as we do Porsches, Ferrari\u2019s and Bentleys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
