Im sure your newsfeed is full of content on the Proton S70, so here’s a simplified guide of what you need to know about Protons latest Sedan.
1. Its a C segment sedan
2. Supposedly cost around RM100,000
3. It shares the same engine as the Proton X50, without direct injection
- Power sent through a 7 speed double clutch gearbox
5. Retuned gearbox and suspension for the local market
Further refinements have been made to the gearbox to make it more responsive apparently and as usual, the ride and handling has been tweaked to work on our roads. That’s 1.2 million km of road testing and 72,000 man hours. Which works out to be 682 times going around Peninsular Malaysia (Penang – JB – Kuantan – Kota Bharu – Penang) in distance, or 24 years of 8 hour work days in man hours. That’s proper R&D.
6. 3 Drive modes available
The gearbox, steering and engine has 3 different modes, which is Normal, Sport and Comfort. It really showed a difference on the handling course during our initial drive experience. We will be sharing the difference of each modes soon on our channels.
7. 4 variants
8. New features for the Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
9. 6 Charging options
10. 7 colours
11. Comes with an optional bodykit
@route_hunters_malaysia Apparently the Proton S70, a C segment sedan (Honda Civic, Mazda 3 rival) will be priced closer to the Vios and City.
