When we say dry batteries its basically wet cell batteries with no requirement to top up battery fluid. However they are not truly dry. Which is why they weight on average between 10 - 20kg’s per unit of 12V battery. Aeson’s Power’s Sodium Ion batteries however weight about 5 - 9kg’s. Here’s 5 reasons why Aeson is the next gen in battery tech.
1. Its crazy light
Anyone who has carried a car battery in and out of a car will know these things can get brutally heavy especially if you break down somewhere remote and you have to swap the battery for a replacement unit or you need to charge it. Aesons battery is about 4kg’s in weight. As garage operators ourselves, its not uncommon for us to swap batteries between cars to start them, these batteries are a huge advantage there.
2. Because power comes from “pouch bags”
Thats because instead of heavy metal cathodes in conventional batteries, you have a stack of pouch bags that contain the cells that give you the power. The rest of the battery is just an empty shell thats designed to fit with your cars existing battery holder.
3. Which packs a powerful punch
The CCA or Cold Crank Amp is higher than similar sized ‘regular’ batteries. For example, the DIN75 Sodium Ion battery has a CCA of 750 - 850 amps. The CCA of a regular DIN100L battery is between 766 - 950 amps. Which means a DIN75 Sodium Ion battery can stand in for a car that requires DIN100L. Also this means you get a much higher power boost which will be noticeable in daily applications.
4. That lasts quite a while
Because of the way they are constructed, they last pretty long. Which is why each battery comes with a 36 month, UNLIMITED MILEAGE warranty. Usually car batteries will have a mileage cap along with the time duration, like 18 months or 30,000km. Aeson Power batteries gets twice the warranty
5. And they put their money where their mouth is
Across their entire product range, the Aeson batteries provide a warranty thats twice the warranty duration of the regular batteries, which means it could last for about 3.5 - 4 years easily, subject to usage. Yet the RRP online for these batteries are about 70% of the main brand regular batteries. Which makes them an amazing value and removes the anxiety of your battery going flat after two years, especially if you have a continental car.
These Aeson batteries are great for those who use lightweight cars like the 86, Honda S660, Lotus Elise or the MX5. They are also great to have if you have more than one car in your garage and swap batteries between them. Project car kaki’s know what we are talking about. Or you just want a worry free long interval between your battery change intervals, and you are a heavy user. These batteries pay dividents there.
