Malaysia Bike Show - top 6 picks for this years show

Its the last day of the Malaysia Bike Show today if you’re going to check it out here’s a list of what to check out. Remember these bikes are not just there for show, you can ride it around the MAEPS grounds. Here’s our top 6 picks

1. Modenas & Kawasaki’s newest

Of course the ZX10R is sexy as hell and the Z1100 SE is crazy, but our attention was on the Z650. Starting from RM35,600, you get traction control, the powerful yet efficient parallel twin 650, and the generous support of a nationwide dealer network. The insect like front headlamp design, the naked frame makes for a wild look, yet it is a very practical solution.

2. KTM 390 Adventure X and Adventure R

KTM’s affordable adventure bike is back with an update. With two very distinct variants. The X is more for touring while the R is designed to hit the trails. The R gets longer travel suspension, with larger wheels. Both bikes get a new front headlamp design, better ergo, and 46hp power from the 399cc single.

3. Honda new ADV160

The ADV lineup is super popular amongst Malaysians and the new ADV160 starting from RM13,249 has a whole host of features. The 14.7Nm output is managed by Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with ABS, LED lights, and a 5 inch TFT screen with Honda RoadSync connectivity system, which mirrors function from the phone to your screen. Unlike Royal Enfield, it does not require the phone to be on while using the app.

4. ARC’s new XRS Helmet collection

Theres a Grogu helmet! These Malaysian made helmets feature Star Wars characters like Darth Vader, the Mandalorian and BB8. The XRS series is the first to meet the ECE 22.06 safety standards with built in sun visor, eyewear friendly design and improved ventilation. There are also Disney themed helmets. The XRS starts from RM370 while the youth series starts from RM135

5. Every MForce brand

They literally took a whole damn hall, the biggest hall of the show literally. Every brand under the MFroce umbrella is there, like QJMotor, CFMoto, and more. Highlights included the CFMoto 500 and the QJMotor SRT800 RX. The kit offered for the price is quite surprising and they are at least worth a look. The wildest bike on display was the mad 2000cc flat 8 tourer, the Souo S2000. Bear in mind it weighs more than 460kg’s

6. The World SBK miracle

From co founding KOVE to building a race bike so competitive that it wins multiple races ahead of legacy brands at the Wolrd SBK series, Zhang Xue, founder and CEO of ZXMoto’s story is movie worthy. Their race winning bike and the 500RR are both on display at this years show. We could be witnessing the birth of a legendary legacy right before our eyes.
